Offering a wide variety of styles and subject matter, many of the members’ paintings are inspired by the local scenery, portraiture and travels to places near and far. Interest in the artwork of the Society has heightened the enthusiasm and creativity of its members who continually work to enhance their skills through ongoing classes and workshops given by established artists.

The members of the FVWS have displayed original works at art shows throughout the Fraser Valley as well as places overseas. The group previously participated in a cultural exchange with Russia, which resulted in having 30 artworks painted by the Society’s members displayed in the Moscow Museum of Art.
​
Members continue to promote art in the community by hosting annual art shows to display their work and by supporting various cultural events. You will find members painting in downtown Abbotsford during Berry Festival, teaching at the Children’s Festival as well as offering lessons in public venues and in private studios.
